With a background in Medical Software Engineering and prior hands-on experience as an intensive care nurse, Tobias has a deep understanding of both clinical workflows and technology-driven transformation. This unique combination allows him to bridge the gap between medical professionals, engineering teams, and business stakeholders—ensuring that projects are not only delivered on time, but also aligned with real-world healthcare needs.
In his role as Head of Projects, Tobias is responsible for end-to-end project governance, including planning, execution, risk management, and cross-functional coordination. He leads multidisciplinary teams across software development, integration, and operations, with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and reliability—critical factors in regulated healthcare environments.
My Story
I am an intensive care nurse with several years of experience in high-acuity clinical settings and a strong background in medical informatics. My work focuses on bridging real-world hospital workflows with data-driven and AI-supported solutions that meaningfully support clinical decision-making.
Alongside my clinical practice, I studied Medical Informatics at the University of Lübeck and worked in a research environment on ACT-R–based decision support models for intensive care medicine. This experience allows me to translate concrete clinical use cases, such as early detection of critical trends, therapy and ventilation support, and signal prioritization, into practical technical requirements.
Having worked directly with ICU monitoring systems, ventilators, and electronic documentation, I understand where digital tools create real value and where they must be carefully designed to fit clinical reality. I am driven by building transparent, human-centered healthcare technologies that improve patient safety, reduce cognitive load for clinicians, and integrate seamlessly into hospital environments.
